Contoh Imaginative Recount Text Lengkap dengan Strukturnya

Salah satu jenis recount text yang perlu diketahui adalah imaginative recount text. Mengutip buku Big Pelajaran SMP Full Tips & Trik Materi dan Penyelesaian Soal Ala Tentor, Tim Tentor Indonesia (2016), imaginative recount merupakan suatu teks yang menceritakan suatu cerita khayal yang disertai dengan rincian kejadian tersebut. 

Imaginative recount text tersusun dari tiga bagian, yakni orientation (Pembuka), event (Isi), dan reorientation (Kesimpulan). 

Mengutip buku Bye Bye Dizzy Reading karya Watnoningsih (2022), berikut contoh imaginative recount text yang bisa dipelajari siswa. 

Contoh Imaginative Recount Text

1. Title: Pirate 

Orientation: 

When I was a kid, I always dreamed of being a villain. I imagined myself as a pirate. One day, when I was on vacation at the beach, I saw many boats and fishermen.

Event: 

At first, I just sat and played in the sand on the beach. I began to realize that I was the master of the sea, a brave pirate captain.

Then when I was watching the waves, suddenly a child approached me. He was a crew member, who would accompany me to travel around the ocean. 

Reorientation: 

I did nothing like the pirates at the movie, that stealing maps and looking for treasure. I was an exploring pirate. I just sail around the ocean and enjoy nature. I use my power only to seek pleasure.

2. Title: Princess

Orientation: 

At the frist break, Arin went to the school library. As usual, she walked towrds she fiction section, her favourite one. She took an interesting storybook from the shelf, then sat at the corner.

Event:

The book was about a handsome and brave prince who tried to free a princess from a giant. Arin way very sleepy. She didn’t realise that she fell asleep while reading. 

On her dream, she was the princess who was saved by the prince. The giant didn’t let Arin go. He held her strongly and she struggled to get loose. Consequently she fell down to the ground.

Suddenly, Arin heard people laughing. She opened her eyes and saw several students looking and laughing at her. Arin was confused, but she finely realised what had happened.

Reorientation:

She dreamt about the story in the book she read. For matters wors, she tell down from the chair due to her dream.
