Indonesia Condemns Israel`s Attack on Rafah Refugee Camp

IDXChannel - Indonesia has strongly condemned Israels air strike on the Rafah refugee camp, which has resulted in heavy casualties, as well as their plan to conduct a ground offensive.

"This attack is believed to be part of Israels grand scenario to force the Palestinian people out of their homeland, and to wipe out the future of Palestines independence," Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Lalu Muhammad Iqbal said in a written statement,

According to the spokesman, Indonesia once again urged the United Nations (UN) Security Council to act immediately to stop Israels attacks.

"International Humanitarian Law must be upheld," he added.

Last Month, Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi joined the UN Security Council Open Debate on The Situation in the Middle East and Palestine. She reaffirmed Indonesia\'s unwavering commitment to stand with Palestine.

During the open debate, she demanded an immediate and permanent ceasefire. Moreover, Palestine must be granted immediate full membership in the UN.

She also urged countries to stop the flow of arms to Israel as every weapon sent to Israel can be used to kill innocent civilians. (WHY)
