IDXChannel - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto predicts that Indonesia\'s export growth this year will slow down. The target is that exports will only grow by 12.8 percent.

Meanwhile, in 2022, it was recorded that the realization of Indonesia\'s export performance grew by 29.4 percent. "We project export growth in 2023 to be slower than last year," he said.

In line with the slowing export target, import growth this year is also projected to slow to 14.9 percent. Last year, the pace of imports was recorded to grow by 29.4 percent.

According to Airlangga, the projected slowing export-import growth is based on its already high growth base in 2022. Last year, export performance, which reached 268.18 million US dollars, was also largely supported by a surge in commodity prices.

Especially from iron and steel, fossil fuels, and crude palm oil (CPO). "Coal can compensate for oil imports, so we in this energy sector are positive at almost 6.8 billion US dollars year to date. Iron and steel reached 29 billion U.S. dollars and CPO was about 30 billion U.S. dollars. So, of course this shows that Indonesia\'s exports are relatively strong," he explained.
