Indonesia and India Agree to Strengthen Foreign Policy Dialogue
IDXChannel - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on policy dialogue between the governments and Interaction between think tanks.
This MoU aims to strengthen cooperation through various track dialogues, which facilitate exchanges of foreign policy perspectives between government and non-government sectors, including think tanks from both countries.
"Through this initiative, Indonesia and India seek to deepen collaboration on various strategic and global issues and further strengthen their diplomatic ties," the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday (24/4/2025).
The dialogue also covered global and regional issues of mutual concern, including the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine, and the increase of unilateral sanctions trend.
"Both countries agreed to continue strengthening the engagement between their foreign policy planning institutions and think tanks to enhance future cooperation," it stated.
The signing took place following the 3rd Policy Planning Dialogue (PPD) between the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of MoFA Indonesia and the Policy Planning and Research (PP&R) of MEA India in Jakarta on Wednesday (23/4/2025).
The delegations were led by the Head of the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency at the MoFA Indonesia and the Joint Secretary of PP&R at the MEA India. (Wahyu Dwi Anggoro)
